Marlins' Sandy Alcantara: Logs quality start in no-decision
Alcantara did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Nationals, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts over six innings.
Alcantara allowed runs in the fourth and fifth innings, throwing 58 of 89 pitches for strikes while generating 10 whiffs. It marked the sixth quality start of the season for the 30-year-old, who bounced back nicely from a seven-run outing Thursday. He's been mostly strong this year, holding opponents to three earned runs or fewer in seven of nine starts while posting a 3.90 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 39:20 K:BB across 57.2 innings. He lines up for a road matchup against the Rays next weekend.

Marlins' Sandy Alcantara: Hammered by O's
Alcantara didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 9-7 loss to the Orioles, surrendering seven runs on eight hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out five.
While Alcantara didn't serve up any homers, four of the eight hits off the right-hander went for extra bases -- two each by Pete Alonso and Samuel Basallo -- as he got tagged for seven runs in a start for the second time in 2026. Tuesday's outing was his shortest of the season, and he'll take a 4.01 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 36:18 K:BB through 51.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home this weekend against the Nationals.

Marlins' Sandy Alcantara: Sharp against Dodgers
Alcantara did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Dodgers, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out four.
While he didn't come away with the win, Alcantara did deliver a second straight quality start en route to an eventual 3-2 Miami victory. Alcantara has delivered quality starts in five of his seven outings this season. His ERA sits at 3.04 with a 1.16 WHIP and 31:15 K:BB across 47.1 innings. Alcantara is currently lined up to face the Orioles at home his next time out.

Marlins' Sandy Alcantara: Earns quality start in win
Alcantara (3-2) allowed three runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out four over six innings to earn the win over the Giants on Friday.
Alcantara put plenty of traffic on the bases, but just two of the hits he allowed went for extra bases. The Marlins did their part in giving him plenty of run support, and the right-hander emptied the tank with 108 pitches (75 strikes). This was his fourth quality start of the year and his first win in four outings. Alcantara is at a 3.05 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 27:13 K:BB over 41.1 innings across six starts. He struggled at times in 2025 in his return from Tommy John surgery, but he's looking to be back in his pre-surgery form now, aside from a diminished strikeout rate (5.9 K/9). His next start is projected to be a tough one on the road against the Dodgers.

Brewers' Brice Turang: Drives in three runs Saturday
Turang went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, an RBI single and two walks during the Brewers' 5-2 win over the Marlins on Saturday.
Turang gave the Brewers a 3-1 lead in the fifth inning when he smacked a two-run long ball off Sandy Alcantara, and the former brought home Joey Ortiz on a single in the sixth. It was Turang's fifth multi-hit game of the season, three of which have come over his last six outings. He is slashing .299/.434/.582 with six steals (on eight attempts), four home runs, 14 RBI and a 16:19 BB:K across 84 plate appearances this season.

Marlins' Sandy Alcantara: Control issues in Saturday's loss
Alcantara (2-2) took the loss against Milwaukee on Saturday, allowing three runs on five hits and six walks while striking out one batter across five innings.
Alcantara struggled with his command during Saturday's outing, resulting in multiple batters reaching base safely in four of five innings. He escaped a bases-loaded situation unscathed in the third but gave up his first run in the fourth before yielding a three-run homer to Brice Turang in the fifth frame. Alcantara had as many walks against Milwaukee as he did across his first four starts of the regular season. It was also the first time he did not complete the sixth inning this year, and he now sits with a 3.06 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 23:12 K:BB across 35.1 innings. Alcantara will look to snap out of his two-game losing streak in his next start, which is slated for next weekend on the road against the Giants.

Marlins' Sandy Alcantara: Rocked for seven runs in first loss
Alcantara (1-1) took the loss Sunday against the Tigers, allowing seven runs on 10 hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out four.
On the heels of dominating the Rockies, White Sox and Reds in each of his first three starts, respectively, Alcantara floundered in perhaps his toughest test of the season so far. It was the eighth time in the right-hander's career that he was knocked around for double-digit hits, and he surrendered at least seven runs for the eighth time in his career. Despite Sunday's hiccup, Alcantara still boasts a 2.67 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 22:6 K:BB through 30.1 innings ahead of his next start versus the Brewers.

Marlins' Sandy Alcantara: Goes 8.1 innings against Cincinnati
Alcantara (2-0) didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Reds, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks with six strikeouts across 8.1 innings.
Alcantara fired eight shutout innings and had a 2-0 lead going into the top of the ninth. He got TJ Friedl to fly out before Matt McLain doubled and Elly De La Cruz walked, putting the tying run on base. With closer Pete Fairbanks on paternity leave, manager Clayton McCullough brought on Anthony Bender to try and secure the save, but Bender allowed a sacrifice fly, walked Eugenio Suarez and then allowed the tying run to score on a wild pitch. Alcantara missed out on a 3-0 start to the season and will carry a microscopic 0.74 ERA and 18:4 K:BB across 24.1 innings into his next start on the road against the Tigers on Sunday.

Marlins' Sandy Alcantara: Goes distance in dominant display
Alcantara (2-0) pitched a complete game shutout Wednesday against the White Sox, allowing three hits and striking out seven without walking a batter.
The right-hander produced his second career Maddux, needing just 93 pitches (69 strikes) to blank Chicago. Alcantara has enjoyed a favorable start to the season with matchups against the Rockies and White Sox. However, the star right-hander has made the most of the opportunity by allowing one unearned run on seven hits and two walks while fanning 12 across 16 innings over those two outings. Alcantara will try to continue his excellent start to the season in his next turn through the rotation, which is tentatively scheduled to come against the Reds at home next week.
