Mammoth's MacKenzie Weegar: Adds pair of assists
Weegar recorded two assists and two PIM in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Blues.
Weegar had three helpers over the last three games of the regular season. The 32-year-old defenseman has seen steady top-four minutes since he was traded to the Mammoth from the Flames, but his scoring production has been roughly equal on a per-game basis. He finished the season with four goals, 28 points, 154 shots on net, 167 hits, 175 blocked shots, 88 PIM and a minus-33 rating over 79 appearances. Weegar will look to be a strong shutdown blueliner as he faces former Calgary teammate Rasmus Andersson and the Golden Knights in the first round of the playoffs.

Mammoth's MacKenzie Weegar: Plucks apple in loss
Weegar notched an assist, two shots on goal, two hits and three blocked shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Flames.
Weegar was able to get on the scoresheet in his first game back in Calgary since he was dealt to Utah. The defenseman missed a game due to an upper-body injury earlier in April, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he got rested for one or both of the Mammoth's last two contests before the playoffs. In 77 outings between the Flames and the Mammoth this season, he has four goals, 22 helpers, 153 shots on net, 166 hits, 173 blocked shots, 84 PIM and a minus-32 rating.

Mammoth's MacKenzie Weegar: Slated to play Tuesday
Weegar (upper body) will be in the lineup Tuesday versus the Oilers.
Weegar missed one game due to the issue. The Mammoth look to be prepared to manage his minutes, as Nick DeSimone will dress as a seventh defenseman for this contest. Weegar is slated to be on the top pairing alongside Mikhail Sergachev.

Mammoth's MacKenzie Weegar: Unavailable Saturday
Weegar (upper body) won't play versus the Canucks on Saturday and is considered day-to-day.
Weegar is dealing with an injury, though he logged 19:33 of ice time in Seattle on Thursday. The 32-year-old's day-to-day status suggests he could still be an option as soon as Tuesday's game versus the Oilers.

Mammoth's MacKenzie Weegar: Scores first goal with new team
Weegar scored a goal on two shots, added two PIM, logged two hits and blocked two shots in Thursday's 7-4 loss to the Capitals.
Weegar potted his first goal as a member of the Mammoth in the third period, but the Capitals had four tallies in that frame to run away with the win. It's been slow going for Weegar with his new team -- he has three points, a plus-1 rating, 22 hits and 18 blocks over 11 outings since he was traded from the Flames. For the season, the blueliner has 24 points, 141 shots on net, 152 hits, 161 blocks, 78 PIM and a minus-34 rating across 71 appearances.

Mammoth's MacKenzie Weegar: Logs helper in team debut
Weegar posted an assist, two hits and three blocked shots in Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over the Blue Jackets.
Weegar missed only one game while waiting for his work visa after a trade from Calgary. He immediately slotted into a top-pairing role for the Mammoth, though the team didn't get enough power-play time to give a hint as to his usage in that situation. Weegar is up to 22 points, 126 shots on net, 132 hits, 146 blocked shots, 69 PIM and a minus-35 rating over 61 appearances. His overall play should benefit from joining a team in the thick of the playoff race.

Mammoth's MacKenzie Weegar: Set for Utah debut
Weegar (immigration) was added to the Mammoth's roster and will play Saturday versus the Blue Jackets.
Weegar will line up alongside Mikhail Sergachev, forming a formidable top pairing for the Mammoth. Weegar's visa paperwork was expected to take longer, but he'll end up missing just one game since he was traded Wednesday. He'll be a top-four fixture for the rest of the season, but it's not yet clear how much of a factor he'll be on Utah's power play.

Mammoth's MacKenzie Weegar: Sent to Utah
Weegar was traded to the Mammoth from the Flames on Wednesday in exchange for Olli Maatta, Jonathan Castagna and three 2026 second-round picks, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Weegar is an acquisition that suggests the Mammoth think they can make a run. He'll bolster their defense with strong all-around play, and his fantasy outlook should get a boost from playing in a better offense. Weegar is best for hits and blocked shots, but it's unclear if he'll maintain a power-play role with the Mammoth, as Mikhail Sergachev has been on the first unit and Sean Durzi typically plays on the second. Expect Weegar to see top-four minutes at even strength, though he won't be able to join the team immediately, instead missing 4-10 days while waiting for his visa paperwork to be approved, per Cole Bagley of KSL Sports. That means he's likely to miss the Mammoth's next two games at a minimum.

Flames' MacKenzie Weegar: Dishes two power-play helpers
Weegar logged two power-play assists, two shots on goal, four hits, two blocked shots and two PIM in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Oilers.
Weegar is picking up steam with four helpers over his last three outings. The 32-year-old defenseman made his first power-play contributions since Dec. 31 with this performance. Overall, he's at 20 points, 123 shots on net, 127 hits, 129 blocked shots, 67 PIM and a minus-32 rating through 56 appearances. Weegar's fantasy value continues to come mostly from his non-scoring production.

Flames' MacKenzie Weegar: Pockets assist in win
Weegar notched an assist, four shots on goal and four blocked shots in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Sharks.
Weegar snapped an 11-game point drought with the helper. He went minus-14 with 20 hits, 33 blocked shots and 20 shots on net in that span. This has been a season to forget for Weegar, who is now at 17 points with 121 shots, 123 hits, 125 blocks, 65 PIM and a minus-31 rating over 54 appearances. He's currently on the first power-play unit, but don't be surprised if Zayne Parekh or Hunter Brzustewicz take over that role by the end of the campaign. Weegar's lack of offense has been tough to handle in fantasy, but his non-scoring production has at least raised his floor a bit.

Flames' MacKenzie Weegar: Provides two assists
Weegar notched two assists, four shots on goal, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Flyers.
Weegar turned things around in December, earning nine points over the last 10 games of the month. The 31-year-old blueliner had a rough start to the year, but he's too good to stay down all season. Overall, he's now at 14 points, 93 shots on net, 97 hits, 86 blocked shots, 59 PIM and a minus-14 rating across 40 appearances. With his offense trending up, fantasy managers should see if he can be scooped up off the wire -- rivals may have been impatient with his first two months of the campaign.

Flames' MacKenzie Weegar: Scores before ejection
Weegar scored a goal on two shots and racked up 22 PIM in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Oilers.
Weegar was called for unsportsmanlike conduct in the second period, but he stayed hot in the penalty box, which led to him getting a game misconduct as well. The 31-year-old defenseman has turned things around in the last couple of weeks with two goals and five assists over his last seven games, including a tally before his ejection Tuesday. Overall, he's at three goals, 12 points, 87 shots on net, 93 hits, 78 blocked shots, 57 PIM and a minus-18 rating over 37 appearances. Weegar's non-scoring production should keep him on the radar in fantasy, though his down year on offense has taken him out of must-have territory in standard formats.

Flames' MacKenzie Weegar: Crosses 200-assist mark in career
Weegar provided three assists, three hits, three blocked shots, two shots on net and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Golden Knights.
Weegar's offense has been more lively lately, as he's earned a goal and five helpers over his last six games. His effort Saturday included his 200th career assist, which he earned on a Mikael Backlund goal in the second period that ended up being the game-winner. Overall, Weegar is still digging out from a bad start -- he's at 11 points, 85 shots on net, 92 hits, 77 blocks, 35 PIM and a minus-19 rating through 36 appearances.

Flames' MacKenzie Weegar: Finds twine in loss
Weegar scored a goal on four shots and added two hits in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Red Wings.
Weegar has three points over his last seven games. While that's not great production overall, it's an improvement for the 31-year-old blueliner, who had an ice-cold first quarter of the campaign. He's at a mere seven points with 69 shots on net, 83 hits, 63 blocked shots, 35 PIM and a minus-21 rating through 32 appearances, though he has maintained an all-situations role.

Flames' MacKenzie Weegar: Ends long slump
Weegar scored a goal on five shots, added two PIM, logged two hits and blocked four shots in Friday's 5-3 win over the Panthers.
Weegar put an 11-game point drought to rest, and the goal was his first of the season. The 31-year-old hasn't come anywhere close to matching his production from the last two years, as he's been hit particularly hard by the Flames' lackluster offense. For the year, he's at one goal, four helpers, 56 shots on net, 64 hits, 53 blocked shots, 33 PIM and a minus-20 rating through 26 outings. The non-scoring production is still steady, and he'll be interesting as a reclamation project in fantasy if he can get his offense on track.

Flames' MacKenzie Weegar: Pockets helper in loss
Weegar notched an assist, two hits, two blocked shots and two PIM in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Golden Knights.
The Flames have scored nine goals in four games, and Weegar's helper Tuesday was his first point. He's added 14 hits, six blocked shots, 18 PIM and a minus-4 rating. The 31-year-old will be a top-four fixture throughout the campaign, and he'll add plenty of production in the physical categories. His offense is likely to depend on the Flames' play as a whole, particularly on the power play, where he is occupying a spot on the first unit.

Flames' MacKenzie Weegar: Helps out on power play
Weegar notched a power-play assist, three shots on goal and three blocked shots in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout win over the Golden Knights.
Weegar kept warm with his sixth point over the last nine games when he set up a Morgan Frost tally in the first period. The 31-year-old Weegar has a career-high 39 helpers this season, as well as a personal-best 21 power-play points. He's at 47 points, 182 shots on net, 223 hits, 188 blocked shots and a plus-18 rating across 80 appearances in an impressive all-around campaign for a blueliner.
