Eovaldi had to be scratched from a scheduled start Monday against the Diamondbacks due to tightness in his left side. However, he has bounced back quickly and appears poised to miss only the one turn through the rotation. The veteran right-hander has been excellent in his last two starts, logging a 0.60 ERA, 0.53 WHIP and 15:1 K:BB.

Eovaldi had to be scratched from a scheduled start Monday against the Diamondbacks because of left side tightness. He's listed as day-to-day, and the fact that he's throwing again already suggests he has a chance to take his next turn through the rotation this weekend in Houston.

This is seemingly positive news for the right-hander, who was scratched from his scheduled start Monday against Arizona after experiencing left side tightness. The Rangers have yet to share any official imaging results, but the fact that he's been labeled as day-to-day is an indication that he's managed to avoid a serious injury. It's not clear at this time when he will take the mound next.

The injury is a tough blow for both the Rangers and Eovaldi's fantasy managers, as the right-hander had been in peak form for his last two starts, covering 15 innings and collecting wins in both of those appearances while pitching to a 0.60 ERA, 0.53 WHIP and 15:1 K:BB. The Rangers will send Eovaldi in for further tests as they look to determine whether he's dealing with an oblique strain, which would presumably require a stint on the IL. Texas will turn to Jakob Junis as its opening pitcher for what will be a bullpen game in Monday's series opener. Consider Eovaldi day-to-day until the Rangers provide more information on the extent of his injury.
Eovaldi (4-4) earned the win Wednesday against the Yankees, allowing one run on three hits and no walks in eight innings. He struck out eight.
Facing the first-place Yankees in a second straight start, Eovaldi delivered perhaps his finest showing of the season thus far. The 36-year-old right-hander registered 19 whiffs en route to setting season highs in strikeouts and innings while tying a season low in hits allowed. Eovaldi will try to further improve on his 4.15 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 47:10 K:BB over 47.2 innings in his next outing, which is slated to come versus Arizona.

After giving up six runs on four homers against the A's his last time out, Eovaldi responded with a stellar effort against the Yankees on Wednesday, matching his season highs in innings pitched and strikeouts. It's been an inconsistent start to the year overall for Eovaldi, whose ERA sits at 4.76 with a 1.34 WHIP and 30:10 K:BB across seven starts (39.2 innings). The right-hander currently lines up for a rematch with the Yankees on the road his next time out.

Eovaldi (2-4) took the loss Friday, allowing six runs on six hits and one walk across six innings against the Athletics. He struck out three.
The veteran right-hander served up a home run to Nick Kurtz on the first pitch of the game, with Carlos Cortes and Tyler Soderstrom delivering back-to-back long balls later in the frame. Eovaldi then followed up with three scoreless innings before Cortes launched a three-run homer in the fifth. Eovaldi has now surrendered nine home runs through six starts this season, nearly matching his total of allowed round trippers (10) over 22 starts in 2025. Things won't get any easier for the 36-year-old, as a matchup with the Yankees likely awaits next week.
Jansen is not in the Rangers' starting lineup against the Mariners on Saturday.
It'll be the second time in three days that Jansen will be on the bench, with Kyle Higashioka serving behind home plate and batting ninth while catching Nathan Eovaldi. Jansen went 1-for-5 with a double and two strikeouts in Friday's 5-0 win over Seattle.

Eovaldi (2-3) took the loss against the Mariners on Saturday, allowing four runs (two earned) on eight hits and one walk with three strikeouts over five innings.
The 36-year-old allowed runs in the first, fourth and sixth innings, including a solo homer by Luke Raley to open the sixth. While it was a step back from his stellar performance Monday, Eovaldi has yielded just four earned runs across his last three starts after surrendering 11 earned runs in his first two outings this season. He'll carry a 5.06 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 29:8 K:BB across 26.2 innings into a home matchup against the Athletics next weekend.

Eovaldi (2-2) tossed seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits and issuing two walks while striking out seven batters to earn the win over the Athletics on Monday.
Eovaldi racked up 13 whiffs and needed just 84 pitches (53 of which were strikes) to get through seven frames. All three of the hits he allowed were singles, and the right-hander didn't allow any runner to reach third base. After giving up a combined 11 runs over 8.2 frames in his first two starts of the season, Eovaldi seems to have turned things around. Over his past two outings, he's allowed just two runs across 13 frames while posting a 14:4 K:BB in a pair of victories.
