Paris Johnson Jr. ARI OT
Cardinals' Paris Johnson: Contract option picked up
5h agoThe Cardinals have picked up their fifth-year option on Johnson's contract, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Per the report, the option calls for just over $19 million for the 2027 season, though it's possible that the Cardinals and the offensive tackle could reach an agreement on an extension before then. The No. 6 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft finished up the 2025 regular season on IR due to a knee issue, but has since had ample time to recover, which puts Johnson on track to be healthy the next time Arizona takes the field.

De'Von Achane MIA RB
Dolphins' De'Von Achane: Shows up to voluntary wrkouts
7h agoAchane was spotted at the Dolphins' training facility Thursday for the first time since the start of the team's voluntary offseason program, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Entering the final year of his rookie contract, Achane is in the midst of negotiations toward a long-term extension. The Dolphins have shut down trade rumors, and it sounds like Achane is on board for their rebuilding project as long as he's happy with his compensation. Given his age (24) and monstrous production, Achane probably hopes to top Saquon Barkley's RB-leading totals for average annual value ($20.6 million) and fully guaranteed money ($36 million). For now, Achane will focus on learning a new playbook under new head coach Jeff Hafley and offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik. On-field work doesn't start until mid-to-late May, with mandatory minicamp then scheduled for June 2-4.

Cam Ward TEN QB
Titans' Cam Ward: May throw passes at minicamp
10h agoTitans GM Mike Borgonzi said Thursday that Ward (shoulder) is on track to throw passes at voluntary minicamp next week, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Borgonzi didn't mention if Ward has resumed throwing in individual workouts. The young quarterback suffered an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder during a Week 18 loss at Jacksonville, making an early exit from the final game of a brutal rookie season. Ward started all 17 games, but threw for just 3,169 yards and 15 touchdowns in an undermanned offense with subpar coaching. Ward's setup for 2026 looks at least somewhat better, with Brian Daboll taking over the Tennessee offense (under new HC Robert Saleh) and bringing WR Wan'Dale Robinson with him from the Giants. Ward may have limitations during the offseason program, but he has plenty of time to ramp up before the start of training camp in late July.

Matthew Golden GB WR
Packers' Matthew Golden: Primed for larger role
10h agoGolden has a clear path to move up Green Bay's depth chart in the absence of Romeo Doubs (Patriots) and Dontayvion Wicks (Eagles), ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports.
Green Bay's offseason moves leave Golden, Christian Watson and Jayden Reed without serious competition for the top three spots at wide receiver, pending results of the 2026 NFL Draft. Golden went 23rd overall in last year's draft, yet didn't score his first NFL touchdown until the playoffs. He had four straight games with at least three catches and 37 yards in Weeks 3-7, before averaging just 14.0 yards on 2.6 targets over his final eight appearances of the regular season (shoulder and wrist injuries contributed to the slump). Golden then put up 4-84-1 in a playoff loss at Chicago, restoring some hope for a Year 2 breakout. If nothing else, the Packers seem to be planning a major increase in playing time.

Dexter Lawrence NYG DT
Giants' Dexter Lawrence: Contract talks stall
1d agoLawrence and the Giants have reportedly reached an impasse on talks regarding a new contract extension for the defensive tackle, per ESPN.com.
The report notes that Lawrence previously requested a trade and hasn't been present for the start of the team's initial offseason workout program. Meanwhile, as the NFL Draft approaches, the Giants are said to have engaged with other teams about a potential trade for the 2019 first rounder, who recorded 31 tackles in 17 regular-season games in 2025. That said, it's still possible the two sides could find enough common ground for Lawrence to stick around in 2026, on the heels of conversations with Lawrence's agent that GM Joe Schoen labeled "productive."

A.J. Brown PHI WR
Eagles' A.J. Brown: GM Roseman won't reveal much
1d agoEagles GM Howie Roseman avoided questions about Brown's future while talking with reporters Tuesday, according to Brooks Kubena of The Athletic reports.
Roseman initially declined to comment on Brown when answering a two-part question, instead focusing on recent trade acquisition Dontayvion Wicks. When a different reporter asked about Brown again, Roseman responded, "What do you think the odds of me answering this question any different than I answered it anywhere else?" Roseman then repeated his line from earlier this offseason, saying "A.J. Brown's an Eagle." The response will do nothing to quiet trade rumors, with numerous reports suggesting the Eagles had serious talks with the Rams and Patriots in March. From a cap standpoint, it becomes much easier for the Eagles to move on from Brown after June 1, which means this could drag out for a while even if the team has already made an internal decision of sorts.

Erik Miller SF RP
Giants' Erik Miller: Earns first save
5m agoMiller picked up the save Thursday against the Reds, tossing a shutout ninth inning with a walk and three strikeouts.
Miller has a blown save on his ledger already this season but he took much better advantage of his second chance to lock down a game. The 28-year-old issued a one-out walk to Matt McLain, but he struck out the other three batters he faced to earn the save. With 10 strikeouts in six innings, the 28-year-old has the stuff to be an effective late-inning option but needs to find the consistency as even after Thursday's outing, he holds a 6.00 ERA and 1.83 WHIP on the season.

Jung Hoo Lee SF CF
Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Three-hit day in win
11m agoLee went 3-for-4 with a RBI and a run scored during Thursday's 3-0 win over the Reds.
Lee earned his second three-hit game of the season and fourth multi-hit game over the last week. The 27-year-old clinched the latter of those two feats with a RBI single as part of the three-run seventh inning that saw all the scoring for the entire game. In the last six games, Lee is 10-for-23 (.435 batting average) with three doubles, a home run and three RBI with just two strikeouts.

Mark Canha TEX LF
Mark Canha: Splits with Texas
26m agoCanha requested his release from the Rangers on Thursday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Canha is seeking a big-league opportunity elsewhere after signing a minor-league contract with Texas in February. The 37-year-old has opened the 2026 campaign at the team's extended spring training site in Arizona, and he has yet to appear in a contest. Canha produced a .212 average with one home run, six RBI and nine runs scored over 113 at-bats in 46 regular-season contests with the Royals in 2025, and there's a good chance another squad will give him a shot with their major-league roster this season.

Landen Roupp SF P
Giants' Landen Roupp: Continues strong start to season
30m agoRoupp (3-1) earned the win Thursday against the Reds, allowing no runs on one hit and two walks while striking out six in six innings pitched.
Roupp is in just his second season as a full-time starter and is off to a very strong start through four outings on the year. The 27-year-old has allowed one run or fewer in three of those four starts this season and holds a 2.38 ERA overall, 0.97 WHIP, seven walks and 24 strikeouts in 22.2 innings pitched. Last year, he finished with a 3.80 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP, so those numbers are on pace to far surpass those if he can sustain it over a full season. The right-hander is scheduled to take the mound next against the high-flying Dodgers, tied for second in MLB with 105 runs scored on the season.

Willi Castro COL LF
Rockies' Willi Castro: Out of lineup Thursday
4h agoCastro (hand) is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Houston.
Castro had to be removed from Wednesday's contest after being hit on the right hand by a pitch, though X-rays came back negative. It's possible Castro wouldn't have been in the lineup Thursday, anyway, as his playing time has trended downward over the past week. Consider him day-to-day for now. Edouard Julien will cover second base and bat leadoff for the Rockies.

Sung-Mun Song SD 3B
Padres' Sung-Mun Song: Activated, optioned to Triple-A
4h agoThe Padres reinstated Song (oblique) from the injured list Thursday and optioned him to Triple-A El Paso.
Song landed on the injured list at the start of the regular season due to a right oblique strain but has been playing rehab games with El Paso since March 27. He's slashed .276/.364/.310 with 10 RBI and seven runs scored across 16 games during his assignment and will officially remain in the minors now that he's fully healthy.

Grayson Allen PHO SG
Suns' Grayson Allen: Game-time call for Friday
15m agoAllen (hamstring) is questionable for Friday's Play-In Tournament game against the Warriors.
Allen is in danger of missing a third straight matchup while dealing with hamstring soreness. He'll likely test the injury in shootaround and warmups to see if he can suit up for Friday's clash.
-
Mark Williams PHO C
Suns' Mark Williams: Tagged questionable for Friday
17m agoWilliams is questionable for Friday's Play-In Tournament game against the Warriors due to left foot soreness.
It's unclear if this is a new injury for Williams, who was held out of the regular-season finale due to foot injury maintenance and was then cleared to play in Tuesday's game against the Trail Blazers. The Suns should have another update on the big man's status closer to tipoff. Oso Ighodaro would draw the start at center if Williams can't go.
-
Quinten Post GS C
Warriors' Quinten Post: Ruled out for Friday
25m agoPost (foot) is out for Friday's Play-In Tournament game against the Suns.
Post is in line for a ninth consecutive absence while on the mend from a right foot injury. If the Warriors are able to emerge victorious Friday, his next opportunity to take the court would arrive in Game 1 of the first round against Oklahoma City on Sunday.
-
Kristaps Porzingis GS C
Warriors' Kristaps Porzingis: Listed questionable for Friday
29m agoPorzingis is questionable for Friday's Play-In Tournament game against the Suns due to right ankle soreness.
Anthony Slater of ESPN.com notes that Porzingis appeared to be favoring his ankle after Wednesday's win over the Clippers, so he seemingly picked up the injury at some point during the matchup. He'll presumably test the ankle during shootaround and warmups to see if he can take the court for Friday's must-win game.
-
Moussa Diabate CHA PF
Hornets' Moussa Diabate: Added to injury report
4h agoDiabate is questionable for Friday's Play-In Tournament game against the Magic due to left hip soreness.
It's not clear as to when Diabate picked up this injury, as he logged 36 minutes during Tuesday's overtime win over the Heat. The team will presumably monitor the injury closely leading up to tipoff and should have more information to share on his availability closer to game time.
-
Jonathan Isaac ORL PF
Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Questionable for Friday
4h agoIsaac (knee) is questionable for Friday's Play-In Tournament game against the Hornets.
Isaac has missed over a month now due to a left knee sprain, but the Magic are leaving the door open for the forward to return in a must-win game Friday. If Isaac is ultimately deemed unable to play, Orlando would need Tristan da Silva and Jamal Cain to help fill out more playing time in the frontcourt.

Jaden Schwartz SEA LW
Kraken's Jaden Schwartz: Won't play Thursday
20m agoSchwartz (upper body) is expected to miss Thursday's season finale against Colorado, according to Mike Benton of the Kraken Audio Network.
Schwartz will finish the season with 11 goals and 26 points in 50 outings with the Kraken. The 33-year-old has completed his five-year, $27.5 million contract and is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Wilmer Skoog FLA C
Panthers' Wilmer Skoog: Back down to AHL
30m agoSkoog was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Thursday.
Skoog had two assists over three games at the NHL level. The 26-year-old forward will rejoin the Checkers ahead of their playoff run. He has 37 points in 59 AHL contests this season.
-
Mikulas Hovorka FLA D
Panthers' Mikulas Hovorka: Sent to minors
33m agoHovorka was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Thursday.
Hovorka recorded an assist in four outings with Florida in 2025-26. He also finished the regular season with five goals, 18 points and 44 PIM across 55 appearances with Charlotte. The AHL squad will be participating in the Calder Cup Playoffs, so Hovorka will join the Checkers for that run.
-
Ludvig Jansson FLA D
Panthers' Ludvig Jansson: Dropped to AHL
35m agoJansson was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Thursday.
Jansson earned his first assist in his fourth game Wednesday versus the Red Wings. The 22-year-old defenseman will get to keep playing this season as Charlotte gears up for a playoff run with numerous players coming back from NHL stints.
-
Tobias Bjornfot FLA D
Panthers' Tobias Bjornfot: Heading back to AHL
37m agoBjornfot was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Thursday.
Bjornfot will rejoin the Checkers ahead of the start of their playoff run. The 25-year-old had four points over 19 NHL contests this season, his most appearances in any year since 2021-22.
-
Michael Benning FLA D
Panthers' Michael Benning: Sent back down
38m agoBenning was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Thursday.
Benning's first taste of NHL action saw him record six points over 18 contests this season. He went out with a bang, scoring twice in the regular-season finale versus the Red Wings on Wednesday. Benning will now provide reinforcements for Charlotte ahead of its playoff run.
